We still have an issue in regards of sections. Do we re write it to be Sections as in Star Trek II, or what? There is no Canon mention of the section as brought up in the main article. --TOSrules 20:06, 9 Aug 2005 (UTC)

I dont have the ST:TNG Tech Man, is this a copyright violation? --Alan del Beccio 03:30, 29 Jul 2005 (UTC)

From VfD: Section

(was listed on VfD, no consensus to delete. Discussion follows)

Section
Source is non-canon, plus I don't even recall this information being in the Star Trek: The Next Generation Technical Manual. --Shran 03:52, 29 Jul 2005 (UTC)
  • In the Tech manual they seem to be called "Sectors". On the show however, they are often referred to as sections. There are a good number of references to Sections though. (Voyager's astrometrics in "Equinox, Part II") Although I think it contains some mistakes. While the manual says Ten Forward was Deck 10, section 36, didn't "Power Play" say deck 10, section 1? I'm neutral as of now. - AJHalliwell 04:01, 29 Jul 2005 (UTC)
    • I honestly have no idea, pink skin. However, as much as I love the TNG Tech Manual, it is a non-canon source and so the article should either be rewritten to contain valid, canon info or deleted. --Shran 04:06, 29 Jul 2005 (UTC)
  • Keep In DS9 TNG and VOY Ship and station sections are mentioned a lot. Tobyk777 05:41, 1 Aug 2005 (UTC)
  • I vote Delete, unless something better comes along. As I see it now, no changes have been made to this page, and as it stands, the original posting still applies: "Source is non-canon". --Alan del Beccio 05:51, 6 Aug 2005 (UTC)
  • Rewrite: The reference appears to be non canon as is. But there are canon references to Section, the most notable is Star Trek II where we learn Sectors are subdivided into sections. Ship sections also do exist but no in the way this article defines, You have your Engineering section, and your medical section and so on. --TOSrules 16:55, 8 Aug 2005 (UTC)
  • Rewrite: In Generations, the Enterprise-B is struck by energy from the ribbon, and the officer describing the damage does so by deck and section number. The blueprints for the Enterprise-D (non-canon though they may be) do not provide section numbers for dividing the decks. Still, references to section numbers are rife throughout the series' run.
