What's the distinction between this and chief tactical officer? If a tactical officer is a generic officer related to tactical operations, then there's not much to tell about them, and we should probably merge this with the other article. -- Harry 15:47, 5 Jan 2005 (CET)

I don't know. There is however a advanced tactical traing which officers can follow, but I don't think that you have to be an tactical officer to follow this training. It could also be that 'Chief' is simple a designation to show that this person is responseable for a team or group of personnell like 'Chief Engineer' or 'Chief of Security'. So 'Chief of Security' would be a seperate function than someone who is assigned to security. In how far both jobs differ and deserve seperate articles I would not know. -- Q 18:56, 6 Jan 2005 (CET)
