What's wrong with the extra snippet of info on Mays? I squeezed in one out two deleted sentences. Is that one setence too redundant?--BC19 20:43, 10 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Does the info have a trek source? Tyrant 20:47, 10 Jun 2005 (UTC)Tyrant

ah ha... gotcha. Understood. I wasn't grasping how close to the source references you were taking things. I take it you have more leeway when it comes to actors pages vs. character pages correct? Anyhoo I figured if a 24th century guy like Ben could be so into Mays as a player 400 years after fact... I guessed he's still considered a great player to those people who like baseball. I'll delete it.--BC19 20:52, 10 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Seen again?[]

Was the card ever seen after the episode? Tough Little Ship 20:39, 27 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Removed comment[]

Removed the following as speculative unless cited:

The baseball player Willie Hawkins, whom Captain Sisko envisioned in his "Benny Russell" vision in DS9: "Far Beyond the Stars", is so strikingly similar to Mays (he plays the same position at the same time for the same team, and references contemporaries of Mays) that it is possible Hawkins is simply a version of Mays imagined by Sisko for the vision.

"Time Travel"[]

Should the bit about Jake and Nog trying to convince Weyoun that Mays was a time traveller from the future be included? Xavius, Envoy of Fluidic Space 19:42, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

I don't see why not. After all, the entire future of the galaxy may depend on us tracking down Willie Mays... and stopping him.– Cleanse 22:38, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

Death[]

Seeing as Willie Mays is still alive in reality, shouldn't his "Deceased" status be changed to "21st Century"? At least unless a specific Trek episode mentioned him dying precisely in the 20th Century? 76.14.39.175 09:06, May 20, 2019 (UTC)

Part of me wants to say, 'yeah', but then there is the reality that 'it wasn't stated on screen, so blah blah blah', and that's probably the better answer until it's not. --Alan (talk) 11:24, May 20, 2019 (UTC)
