Major Talok was the persona that a deep-cover Romulan spy assumed prior to the 2150s on Vulcan. "Talok" was a Vulcan military officer under the Vulcan High Command. He served under T'Pol during the High Command's Tomed raid against the Romulans in the early 22nd century. In 2154, Administrator V'Las ordered Talok and his to find and "eradicate" the three remaining Syrrannites, Captain Jonathan Archer, T'Pau, and T'Pol, while they were in possession of the Kir'Shara. However, he failed and Captain Archer was able to deliver the Kir'Shara to the High Command. The revelation of the Kir'Shara's existence led to a renaissance of the Philosophy of Surak on Vulcan, and broke the power of the High Command and Administartor V'Las.
The Romulan was working with V'Las to promote the conquest of Vulcan by the Romulan Star Empire. The revelation of the Kir'Shara's existence destroyed this scheme, and led to "Talok's" return to Romulus. (ENT: "Kir'Shara").
