A taxicab (also, taxi and/or cab) was a form of public transport vehicle in which patrons paid to be taken to requested destinations. An operator of a taxicab was called a taxi driver.
A taxi was featured in a scene of the Earth movie Appointment with Danger which was screened in the mess hall for movie night in a nightmare experienced by T'Pol in 2153. (ENT: "Impulse")
After following an image of Willie Hawkins through a door, Captain Benjamin Sisko found himself in the middle of a Prophet-induced vision of a busy New York street and was almost immediately hit by a taxi. (DS9: "Far Beyond the Stars")
When the HMS Bounty went back in time to 1986, James T. Kirk was nearly hit by a Cab Co. taxi in San Francisco. Another company operating in the city was DeSoto Cab. (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home)
In 2022, La'an Noonien-Singh and a version of James T. Kirk from an alternate future used a Vermont Taxicab to get to Pelia's antique store in Vermont. (SNW: "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow")
Jenice Manheim facetiously suggested that Jean-Luc Picard missed their date at the Café des Artistes because he couldn't find a cab after going to the wrong café. (TNG: "We'll Always Have Paris")
A taxi was also seen in the Orient Express holodeck program on the USS Enterprise-D. It nearly ran Data over in the street near a subway. (TNG: "Emergence")
After Tom Paris "borrowed" a car from a dealership in 1996, Tuvok berated him for doing so, saying a taxi cab would have been a more ethical choice. (VOY: "Future's End")
In 2399, Jean-Luc Picard took a shuttlecraft taxi to Raffi Musiker's remote residence. (PIC: "Maps and Legends")
