Tekoa was a Bajoran woman who was an engineer in the Bajoran Militia during the late-24th century.

In 2373, Tekoa served on the space station Deep Space 9 under Starfleet Operations Chief Miles O'Brien. On one occasion, she drank raktajino in company with the rest of the swing shift, while waiting for Chief O'Brien's duty assignments for the day.

She was later assigned to work with Whatley in the docking ring, replacing the inertial couplings there. (DS9: "The Assignment")

Tekoa was played by Rosie Malek-Yonan in her only Star Trek appearance.
The script for "The Assignment" stated Tekoa's name was pronounced "tah-KOE-uh". [1]
According to The Autobiography of Benjamin Sisko, Tekoa became the station's chief engineer in the time after Sisko's disappearance.
