Talek was the executive officer of the Cardassian Galor-class vessel, Vetar, in the late 24th century. As trouble began arising among the colonists of Dorvan V in 2370, Talek was left in command of the ship while his commander, Gul Evek, attempted to deal with the situation.
Glinn Talek never appeared onscreen, although his voice is heard over the communications system, speaking to Evek.
Talek was presumably still the executive officer of the Vetar when the ship was ordered to pursue Chakotay's Maquis crew in 2371. (VOY: "Caretaker"). The ship was heavily damaged in the course of the pursuit; the ultimate fates of Evek, Talek and the rest of the Vetar's crew are unknown.
