A temporal agent is someone associated with a faction of the Temporal Cold War. These time-traveling agents can enact great changes to the timeline.

Temporal agents were often in conflict with each other, mainly due to differing reactions to the Temporal Accord. If one faction of agents attempted to alter a series of events in the past, another faction would try to prevent the other faction from succeeding.

The 22nd century became a hot bed for temporal agent activity. Captain Jonathan Archer and the crew of the Enterprise NX-01 often became involved in a conflict between temporal agents from the 29th and 31st centuries.
