Terry Windell (18 September 195621 July 2018; age 61) was a director who worked on Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Enterprise.

Windell began his career as a visual effects designer, on films including E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982), Poltergeist (1982, with music by Jerry Goldsmith and cinematography by Matthew F. Leonetti), Return of the Jedi (1983), Ghostbusters (1984), 2010: The Year We Make Contact (1984), Fright Night (1985, with Chris Sarandon), Poltergeist II: The Other Side (1986, again with music by Goldsmith, and cinematography by Andrew Laszlo), The Boy Who Could Fly (1986, with Jay Underwood and Louise Fletcher), Solarbabies (1986, with costume design by Bob Ringwood), and Masters of the Universe (1987, with Robert Duncan McNeill, Frank Langella, Meg Foster, and Anthony De Longis).

Later in the 1980s, Windell turned his attention to directing TV commercials, and eventually moved into directing television, with the Voyager episode "Gravity" being his first work in that field. He continued directing for Voyager until the end of its run, and also directed a single episode of Enterprise. Following his work on that show, Windell moved back into visual effects work, including on the 2004 remake of The Stepford Wives, and both parts of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn (2011/2012, with Billy Burke).

In his final years, Windell worked as a visual effects supervisor on various TV shows, including Wayward Pines, TURN and The Tick. He died on July 21, 2018. [1](X)
