A text commentary is a type of DVD commentary in which information appears on the screen. The text commentary of Star Trek DVDs (written by Michael and Denise Okuda) take the form of subtitles.
Star Trek: The Original Series and Star Trek: Enterprise are the only series that has text commentaries included in their box sets, although episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager have received these commentaries in the Fan Collective DVDs.
All of the Special Edition DVDs of the Star Trek Movies have text commentaries.
