Changes: The Dark Time

"The Dark Time" was a term used by later Klingon historians for the ten years that followed the fall of the Second Dynasty.

During this decade, the Klingon Empire was ruled by a council elected by the people. This was the first and only experiment in Klingon democracy, and despite its subsequent reputation produced several notable reforms. The era was followed by the Third dynasty. (DS9: "You Are Cordially Invited")
