Background

In Star Trek literature, Tobin Dax lives around the time of the events of Star Trek: Enterprise. Dax appears in the short story "Dead Man's Hand" in The Lives of Dax, in which he and Skon encounter Romulans during the Earth-Romulan War. Tobin has also appeared in Star Trek: Enterprise novels including Beneath the Raptor's Wing, where he is shown to be working on a countermeasure to the Romulans' telepresence technology.
