Torias Dax (played by Alexander Siddig, sort of) was the fifth host of the Dax symbiont. Torias was married to another joined Trill, Nilani Kahn. (DS9: "Rejoined")
Before he had been joined for a full year, Torias was killed in a shuttlecraft accident in 2285. According to the records of the Trill Symbiosis Commission, he remained comatose for six months before he died. In fact, the symbiont had already been transferred to a new host, Joran Belar. (DS9: "Equilibrium")
Torias had something of a carefree attitude about life, considering it to be "too short to deprive [oneself] of the simple pleasures". He considered himself extremely lucky to have been chosen to be joined - and that his memories would live on beyond his death, in Dax. (DS9: "Facets")
During Jadzia Dax's zhian'tara in 2371, Julian Bashir embodied Torias' memories and personality. Template:Dax
