The Battle of Torros III was one of the earliest battles in the Dominion War, occuring in late 2373. Starfleet was unable to send reinforcements to Deep Space Nine, that was establishing a minefield to prevent more Dominion ships from entering the Alpha Quadrant via the wormhole. Instead of sending ships to Deep Space Nine, the Federation and the Klingon Empire launched an attack on the Dominion-Cardassian shipyards, located near Torros III. Although Deep Space Nine was lost, the shipyards were completely destroyed in the attack, the first attack the Federation and the Klingons launched against the Dominion and the first operation together since the Khitomer Accords were reinstated.
