Tyree is a humanoid native of a primative planet, living with the Hill People. In 2254, when James T. Kirk was on a survey mission to the planet, Kirk and Tyree became good friends. When Kirk returned to Tyree's planet in 2268, aboard the USS Enterprise, Tyree had risen to become leader of the Hill People, and was married to a woman named Nona.
