The USS Clement (NCC-12537) was a Federation starship in service during the latter half of the 24th century.
In 2370 the USS Enterprise-D was supposed to meet with the Clement, but the rendezvous was delayed when the Enterprise was ordered to the Argaya system. (TNG: "Lower Decks")
In 2374, the Clement suffered heavy casualties during the war, a week before the Dominion invaded Betazed. Casualties from the Clement, including Commander Grace Kenney, were listed on a casualty report on Deep Space 9. (DS9: "In the Pale Moonlight")
Background
According to the Star Trek Encyclopedia this vessel was an Template:ShipClass starship. The registry, NCC-12537, which also originally appeared in the Encyclopedia, would later appear in several casualty reports during DS9 Season 6 and 7.
The USS Clement was possibly named after the HMS Clement. It may also have been named after science fiction author Hal Clement.
