The USS Firebrand (NCC-68723) was a Federation starship that was in service during the mid-24th century.
In 2367, the Firebrand was on of 38 starships that engaged the Borg at the Battle of Wolf 359, and was subsequently destroyed in the battle. The USS Enterprise-D stumbled upon the remains of the wreck, it flew by the remains of the Firebrand. (TNG: "The Best of Both Worlds, Part II")
Background
The studio model of the Firebrand (link to image) was created for use in its appearance in "The Best of Both Worlds, Part II." The ship's class, Freedom class, was designated by the production staff, along with the ship's registry (found on the primary hull), would later be revealed by Mike Okuda in the Star Trek Encyclopedia.
