The USS Hermes (NCC-10386) was a Federation starship that was in service during the late 24th century.
In early 2368, the Hermes served as part of the task force that blockaded the Klingon-Romulan border during the Klingon Civil War. The ship had previously been docked at Starbase 234 for major repairs. (TNG: "Redemption, Part II")
Background
According to the Star Trek Encyclopedia the Hermes was an Antares-class starship. Its registry appeared in the Okudagram depicting ships deployed in the tachyon detection grid.
The name is presumably a tribute to Hermes, the ancient Greek messenger-god.
