The USS Intrepid (NCC-38907) was a 24th century Federation starship operated by Starfleet. In 2346, the Intrepid was under the command of Captain Drew Deighan.

In that year, on stardate 23859.7, the Intrepid was the first ship to respond to a Klingon distress call from Khitomer when the outpost was attacked by Romulan patrol ships. The chief medical officer on board the ship during the Khitomer rescue operation was Moran. (TNG: "Sins of the Father", "Redemption")

Chief Petty Officer Sergey Rozhenko was serving aboard the Intrepid at the time, and while doing so he adopted a young Klingon child named Worf who had been orphaned by the Romulan attack. (TNG: "Family")

This could be an Excelsior-class starship, as Sergey had said he served as a warp field specialist on an "old Excelsior-class", but that reference was in a different scene than the reference to serving on the Intrepid.
