The USS Mustang (NCC-85343) was a Federation starship that was in service with Starfleet in the mid-24th century. In 2364, this starship was commanded by Jimmy Arakaki.

The ship was to proceed to the Gamma Argus system and conduct a survey of Gamma Argus II. The parameters of this mission included a cultural evolution study and, at the discretion of the captain, an initial first contact.
