In 2379, the Nova was assigned to Starfleet Battle Group Omega, which was deployed to the Romulan Neutral Zone to counter an anticipated Reman invasion. (Star Trek: Nemesis)
- The Nova class in general are science ships, making it strange that one be assigned to a battle group.
- The registry number for the USS Nova seems strange, considering the USS Equinox, itself a Nova class starship, had the lower registry number of NCC-72381, suggesting the Equinox came before the Nova. It could be suggested that the USS Nova referred to in Star Trek: Nemesis was a replacement for the prototype ship of the Nova class.
