The USS Yeager (NCC-65674) was a 24th century Federation Yeager-type starship operated by Starfleet.

The Yeager served during the Dominion War, starting in 2373, where it was often stationed near Deep Space 9. (DS9: "Doctor Bashir, I Presume", etc.)

This ship was seen in background scenes in several episodes. For detailed information on this design and model, see Yeager-type.

The origin of the name was a result of reusing the existing decals created for the USS Voyager, which were rearranged (and given an extra "E") to get USS Yeager. Likewise, the Voyager's registry, NCC-74656, was transposed into NCC-65674. The same procedure had been previously performed on the model of the USS Trial, which was made from a USS Reliant model kit, and the USS Constellation, which was made from a USS Enterprise model kit.

The Yeager was most likely named in honor of Chuck Yeager, the US test pilot who first broke the sound barrier.

-This ship must have been commissioned sometime after ''Star Trek: First Contact'' since another USS ''Yeager'' was active then. This ship was seen in background scenes in several episodes. The configuration of this ship (a [[kitbash]], in modeler slang) was created by using the [[primary hull]] and [[nacelle]]s from a [[Revell-Monogram]] [[Intrepid class|''Intrepid''-class]] [[USS Voyager|''Voyager'']] model, attached to the rear [[hull]] of a [[Maquis raider]] model, although the parts differ from their original scale in relation to each other. Backstage photos reveal this model bears the name ''Yeager'' and the registry is NCC-65674. Both are easily made from the premade decals of the ''Voyager'' model (NCC-74656 was transposed into NCC-65674, and Y-A-G-E-R and an extra E from the original decals makes Y-E-A-G-E-R). However, the registry starting with the digit '6' should indicate a ship that is older than the ''Voyager'' parts it is made from, unless the ship and hull registry are actually a predecessor of ''Voyager'' that resembles it, or if this registry just happened to be non-sequential for some other odd reason and the vessel was new circa 2373 (perhaps explaining the mix of old-style and new-style technology). The class name of this ship is unknown, it seems unlikely it would be its own prototype, so the previous fandom designation ''Yeager''-class probably should not be used. The ship is pictured in the DS9 Technical Manual, however it is only referred to as ''Intrepid''-class "variant," and its type and specifications identified.''
