...and in civilian clothing

This Starfleet science officer was stationed on board Deep Space 9 between 2369 and 2375. He was mainly assigned to the science division, but occasionally joined the command division and operations division of the station. He was sometimes on duty on OPS and served also on the USS Defiant. He was also seen several times in civilian clothing and was a frequent guest in Quark's Bar.

He visited Quark's Bar when Kira Nerys and Chief O'Brien closed the establishment and the Cardassian officers had to leave and take their latinum with them (DS9: "Emissary") and witnessed Odo's talks with the Duras sisters who, after they arrived on the station, refused to give their weapons away. (DS9: "Past Prologue")

He was a guest at Quark's when Q created a boxing fight between himself and Commander Sisko (DS9: "Q-Less") and while Grand Nagus Zek visited the station for the first time. (DS9: "The Nagus")

He same year he was a frequent visitor of the Promenade and witnessed Chief O'Brien's anger against a stubborn Bajoran vendor, the arrival of a group of orthodox Bajorans, the destruction of the school by a bomb, Vedek Winn Adami's visit to the aftermath, and the assassination attempt on Vedek Bareil by Neela. Later he was temporary assigned to the security division and served alongside another security officer as guard for the Detapa Council. He was wounded in the shootout and hand-to-hand combat with the Klingons. (DS9: "The Way of the Warrior")

In an alternate timeline in 2372, he attended the memorial service for Benjamin Sisko on the Promenade. (DS9: "The Visitor")

He was on board the Defiant in 2372 during the meeting with the Karemma in the Gamma Quadrant and had to leave sickbay. He was among the crewmembers and civilians who carried furniture into Quark's after Quark left all of his property to Brunt and the FCA. (DS9: "Body Parts")

He was working in a cargo bay and transported some containers. (DS9: "A Simple Investigation")

It is possible that the character in this episode who was played by Demonbreun was a different because he wore civilian clothing and looks more like a member of the freighter personnel.

In 2373 he was aboard the Defiant when the crew detected the planet Gaia. He served on the bridge. (DS9: "Children of Time")

In 2374, he served as helmsman of the Defiant under the command of Jadzia Dax. (DS9: "Favor the Bold")

He returned to Deep Space 9 aboard the Defiant in early 2375 and was reading the latest casualty report in the wardroom. (DS9: "Image in the Sand")

He was working on ops when Captain Sisko learned about the undercover mission of Miles O'Brien. (DS9: "Prodigal Daughter")

He was working on ops when the senior staff talked about a plan to help Vic Fontaine. (DS9: "Badda-Bing, Badda-Bang")

He visited the replimat and had a drink with a Bajoran officer while Garak and Dr. Bashir spoke about the diplomatic mission to Romulus. (DS9: "Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges")

He was working on ops when Kai Winn Adami visited Captain Sisko in his office. (DS9: "'Til Death Do Us Part")

He was also present in Quark's when Miles O'Brien and Julian Bashir built their Alamo model at the bar. (DS9: "The Changing Face of Evil")

He was on duty on ops when Kira Nerys received her orders from Captain Sisko to work with Damar (DS9: "When It Rains...") and when the "new" USS Defiant arrived at the station. (DS9: "The Dogs of War")

This recurring officer was played by regular background performer Brian Demonbreun who appeared throughout the run of Deep Space Nine, but was never credited.
In most of his appearances he wore a science division uniform but in several episodes he was also seen in a command division uniform or temporary in a security division uniform. Demonbreun said he owned two uniforms like most of the background performers.
It is possible that this character is Lieutenant Andrew Powell, also played by Brian Demonbreun, seen in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "All Good Things...". Although both worked in the science division it was never mentioned that they are the same person.
