Apology[]

I am a lesbian and I hate how they're treating you on the page about Adira. It's an embarrassment as a member of LGBT that they're making us look hostile and belligerent like that.

Thank you, but it isn't necessary. This is just what happens in a world with twitter. - Archduk3 04:37, 9 January 2021 (UTC)
In the words of transgender writer Sophia Narwitz: There is no single entity more significantly harmful to the widespread acceptance of trans people than the overly woke crowd. Put me in a room with one woke person and nine actual bigots, and I guarantee you, if that single woke person has access to Twitter, then they’re doing more widespread harm to people like me than whatever insults the other nine may levy my way.. --NetSpiker (talk) 04:45, 9 January 2021 (UTC)

I see you reverted my edit on Star Trek Captains. I understand that you are an admin and I am new to this wiki but when I justified my edit I wish you had a better reason then just "I don't think so." I started a discussion on the talk page to come to a decsion.Dr.Autocorect25 (talk) 16:10, 24 January 2021 (UTC)

Adminship[]

On Memory Alpha, we have always operated under the banner that everyone – be it a newcomer, an regular user, administrator or even a bureaucrat – is to be held accountable to the same policies and guidelines crafted by the community. We have always upheld that an administrator is not more important than anyone else and that their additional rights are merely a means to an end, a necessary tool to uphold and enforce those policies.

While we don’t expect anyone to be flawless – no one is – we do expect that all our members at the very least treat each other with a basic level of respect. This does not mean that you can’t disagree with someone else, but it does mean that your comments should never contain direct insults, personal attacks, criticism or defamation of character, or, and this should be obvious, bigoted language. We have several policies in play that reference behavior on Memory Alpha, but our policies also need to be approached with common sense; adhere to the spirit rather than the letter of the rules, and be prepared to ignore the rules on the rare occasions when they conflict with the goal of improving the community.

You have received two warnings in the form of short blocks before about this in the hopes that you would draw your conclusions and adjust your antagonistic behavior toward those with a dissenting opinion from yours, but it seems like your rhetoric has only taken a turn for the worse over the recent years, and it has become more than unbecoming for an administrator of Memory Alpha. There comes a point where we have to draw a line; where all the good that we see in your person as a user and valued archivist of all things Star Trek no longer outweighs your treatment of others. As such, we have taken the action to demote you as an administrator of Memory Alpha.

Please acknowledge that you've read and understand this.

For any passerby that may read this message and wonder "is demoting him enough?" Bear in mind that this user has been performing as an administrator for more than decade and has been a voracious editor and Memory Alpha/Star Trek expert. He has performed very well over the many years he has served on Memory Alpha, and we also recognize that. Having those rights removed is a considerable blow to take in. This action was taken with genuine interest for the well-being of our community at large and not to tear down other users. The consequence suggested should be deemed just, as it is not our goal to chase his other valuable contributions away.

Another secret behind closed doors discussion that effects the wiki without the subject or public present to defend themselves or offer opinions. "All this has happened before, and all this will happen again."
I get it though, it wouldn't really matter where you decided to put on a drumhead trial, because nothing I could say or do would change the minds of bigots, or if that isn't clear enough for you, "a person who is obstinately or unreasonably attached to a belief, opinion, or faction, especially one who is prejudiced against or antagonistic toward a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular group." I've been judged guilty of thought crimes, in that my motivations and intentions have already been decided by other parties in their heads, and now I must pay for those things that only happened there. The Cardassian cancel mob gets its "justice" and pound of flesh, while you get to hope they'll leave the rest of you alone.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not now and have never pretended I'm not a dick to people who decide to be an ass to me, but any hate in that came from them, more often than not. I have over reacted to stupid questions in the past, but not a single person here is perfect. Most of the time though, I just matched whatever energy people were giving and send it right back. If it was positive, we had a positive interaction; if it wasn't, they usually ended up bitching about how I'm a nazi or something at the TrekBBS. I didn't make people "the other", but it's OK for them to make me "the other", direct insults, personal attacks, threats of physical harm and death, to say nothing of the endless criticism and defamation of my character, so long as that "other" will now no longer include the rest of you.
People who don't know know me and aren't interested to on the internet not liking me isn't a problem I have, after all "many a man's reputation would not know his character if they met on the street", but we have met, and this stab in the back does hurt. I stayed silent while these bigots described a person I couldn't recognize with my name so they would forget the rest of you, so we would be in a better position to get through this and could get back to the work. You should have held out longer, you could have at least got 30 pieces of sulfur for the deed. A memento to remember this by. I'll get over it though, it's not good to leave the blade in, because it does real long term damage. Look at what's happening here, these bigots act "like abused children who have grown big enough to do the same thing to someone else as if that will somehow balance the scales, [but] it won't." Dog piling onto us as if we were some corporation instead of, at best, a small group of Humans working thanklessly towards a similar goal. The insincere corporate language you've used here I'm sure will help to dispel any notion that "canceling MA" the next time some special interest group wants something isn't not only the best tactic, but the one that works.
I do understand what I did wrong though, I made the mistake of going in there and trying to find common ground between an addition I didn't agree with but had to treat with good faith and a bunch of hysterical bigots who wouldn't know good faith if it bumped into them on the street. I was the problem there because I had the gall to treat people rudely who were being rude. The problem wasn't Alan locking the page on the "wrong" edit. The problem wasn't the implicit ask for help on slack when that started getting hot on the talk page. The problem wasn't bigots taking comments out of context and editorializing them on social media. The problem wasn't you pushing through the just enough and brand new consensus to remove the parameter from the sidebar while apparently lying to us about Anthony Rapp signing off on it, if your "edits" to my posts elsewhere without any discussion with me are to be believed. I'm also not the one still trying to sell that bullshit story that the resource policy didn't allow non binary until recently, that's you. If I'm a bigot for actually trying to "follow the rules" instead of just overriding you all like Tim eventually did, then look in the mirror, there's bigots everywhere! You've been happy to let me clean up the messes here for years and take the consequences myself for "the team," so what's the harm in doing it once more, right?
The wiki will be fine without me, that has been and always was the point, but it wouldn't have cost you anything to treat me with some of the respect I've earned while kicking me out the door, to say nothing of the basic Human decency Star Trek is suppose to be all about and that I'm now supposed to be condemned for not having to save you sorry lot. You know as well as I that I no longer have access to do a lot of the work I do for the wiki without sysop powers, just like you know that after the last incident where I was also not allowed to face my judge or jury that you were suppose to actually step up and start doing the parts of the job you've been letting me do for you for roughly half a decade. Apparently, there just wasn't enough integrity left after that "Well written AD3. Didn't know you had it in you!" back on Jan 8th to do that.
So yes, I've read this, and I understand it all too well. - Archduk3 00:05, 19 February 2021 (UTC)
