The A4 rocket, model 4 in the Aggregate series, was the first man-made object to reach space. It became known as the V-2 type "vengeance" weapon used by Nazi Germany to attack sounthern England in World War II. A model of this rocket was displayed on Admiral Alexander Marcus' desk, together with other historical spacecraft. (Star Trek Into Darkness)
