[[mu:Vic Fontaine]]
It was never explained why Vic was a real solid being, rather than a hologram, in the mirror universe, or why he was fighting the [[Terran Rebellion]]. It can be speculated that he was somehow connected to the Alliance, although this is not yet proven. Some viewers believe that the mirror Vic was a Human; others believe that sparks, smoke and circuits were seen emanating from Vic's chest wound, indicating that Vic was an [[android]] based on the same physical template as the holographic Vic in the primary [[universe]]. Neither Vic's appearance nor the script clearly establishes which interpretation is correct.

Mirror Vic Fontaine

For the prime universe counterpart, please see Vic Fontaine.

In the mirror universe, Vic Fontaine was a Terran who was killed by Julian Bashir during a firefight on Terok Nor in 2375. (DS9: "The Emperor's New Cloak")

Like his counterpart, Vic was played by James Darren, who went uncredited for this appearance. Unlike his counterpart, this Vic was not a hologram. It was not specified how this was possible, though perhaps he was actually the counterpart of a Human whom the holographic Vic's program was modeled after, similar to how The Doctor was modeled after Dr. Lewis Zimmerman.
