Von Braun was a Type 7 shuttlecraft attached to the USS Enterprise-D in the 2360s. It was shuttlecraft number 04.

In early 2366, the Von Braun was was listed on the shuttlebay operations display as being available for use in Hangar 3. (TNG: "Evolution")

Two years later, the Von Braun was used to transport rescue crews to a damaged Romulan science vessel. The Von Braun was delayed in leaving the Romulan ship, requiring Data and Worf in the shuttle Goddard to hold their approach. (TNG: "The Next Phase")
