Later that year, the science vessel T'Vran conducted an exploration mission of the Gamma Quadrant. It detected an explosion in the Chamra Vortex, where it located and offered assistance a Starfleet runabout. It later transported two Rakhari back to Vulcan. (DS9: "Vortex")
- A line cut from an early draft of "Business as Usual" (DS9) referred to a Vulcan science veseel, named the T'Pan, which had requested permission to dock at Deep Space 9, and was granted to put in at Docking Bay Three.
