Wendy Hughes (29 July 19528 March 2014; age 61) was an Australian actress who played Nella Daren in the Star Trek: The Next Generation sixth season episode "Lessons".

She had a recurring role as Dr. Carol Blythe throughout the first season of Homicide: Life on the Street (1993) and co-starred in A Woman Named Jackie (1991, with Stephen Collins, Bob Gunton, Mark Metcalf, and Tim Ransom. She also appeared in The Heist (1989, with Noble Willingham), and the 1990 television movie Donor, with Marc Lawrence and Larry Cedar.

Her film credits include Newsfront (1978), My Brilliant Career (1979), Lonely Hearts (1982), Partners (1982, with Jay Robinson, Seamon Glass, and Ed McCready), Careful, He Might Hear You (1983), Wild Orchid II: Two Shades of Blue (1992, with Christopher McDonald), Princess Caraboo (1994), Paradise Road (1997), and The Man Who Sued God (2001).

Hughes passed away following a battle with cancer at the age of 61 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Fellow actor Bryan Brown announced her death to the audience of the play Travelling North on Saturday afternoon, 8 March 2014. [1]
