William George was a Human Starfleet officer.

In 2293, he was named as a Engineering Division officer on the dedication plaque of the USS Enterprise-B. (Star Trek Generations, dedication plaque)

He was named after ILM model maker and visual effects art director Bill George.

According to the USS Enterprise Owners' Workshop Manual, William George replaced John Harriman as captain of the Enterprise-B after the events of Star Trek Generations. George was captain for the deep space exploration mission that the Enterprise-B came to be best known for (mapping 142 systems, and seventeen first contacts).

Captain George was replaced circa 2298 by Captain Harriman's second assignment to the position.
