Actor William Marshall was born on August 19th, 1924. On Star Trek: The Original Series, he played Doctor Richard Daystrom in the episode "The Ultimate Computer". However, he is best known for playing the title role of the 1972 cult vampire melodrama, Blacula, and its 1973 sequel, Scream Blacula Scream. He was also known for his performance as the "King of Cartoons" on the children's program Pee-wee's Playhouse from 1987 through 1991.

In 1967, he appeared with TOS actors Nichelle Nichols and Lloyd Haynes in Tarzan's Jungle Rebellion. In 1977, he had a role in the thriller Twilight's Last Gleaming, along with his cousin, the late Paul Winfield.
