William R. Forstchen (born 11 October 1950; age 73) is a Star Trek author.
Forstchen was born in Millburn, New Jersey. He was educated by Benedictine monks until he was expelled. Later, he earned a PhD in History at Purdue University. In 1998, he became involved in archaeological research in Russia and then in Mongolia. In 2004, 2005, he co-authored two novels with the politician Newt Gingrich.
