In 2369, Bajor began a project to tap the molten core of one of its moons, Jeraddo. Minister Toran was confident that the energy would heat "a few hundred thousand Bajoran homes" in the coming winter. (DS9: "Progress")

It was widely believed that Breen was in a permanent state of winter. (DS9: "Crossfire")

Ekoria's husband died during winter on the Teplan homeworld. (DS9: "The Quickening")
