The battle of the Xindi Council planet was the initial response of the alliance between United Earth, the Xindi-Primates and Xindi-Arboreals to the theft of an anti-planet superweapon by the Reptilians and Insectoids.(ENT: "The Council")

Prelude

The Xindi weapon had been completed, and was ready for deployment. All seemed to going according to the plans of both the Sphere Builders and the Xindi Council, when Degra, the weapon's principal designer, emerged from hiding, having allied himself with the humans. Captain Jonathan Archer appeared before the council and presented evidence that contradicted the Sphere Builder's (or the guardians, as they were known to the Xindi)claims. Specifically, Archer attempted to prove that the Xindi had been manipulated into attacking Earth. He was able to convince the Arboreals to join the new alliance, the Aquatics chose a neutral position, and the remaining two species refused to consider the evidence. The Sphere Builders addressed the reptilian Commander Dolim, and ordered him to seize the weapon.(ENT: "The Council")

Betrayal

Dolim's soldiers discovered a damaged memory core from a missing ship that contained an image of Degra's shuttle firing a particle weapon. The primate had been forced to do so to prevent the exposure of his alliance with Archer (ENT: "The Forgotten"). Dolim stabbed Degra, and called an emergency meeting of the council. Whilst he distracted it's members, a Reptilian/Insectoid force took control of the device, which was primed for launch in an underground chamber.(ENT: "The Council")

The Battle

The weapon and it's escort force attempted to leave the system. They were intercepted by nearly a dozen Primate and Arboreal vessels, as well as Enterprise. The two fleets engaged each other and the Reptilian flagship abducted Ensign Hoshi Sato from Archer's bridge. Having disabled Enterprise, the small force entered a Subspace vortex.(ENT: "The Council")

Aftermath

With only two launch codes (there were five, one from each Xindi species), the Reptilians and Insectoids were unable to arm the weapon, three codes were required. This was why they had abducted Sato, in the hope that she could bypass the Aquatic code.(ENT: "The Council", "Countdown")
