Captain Zimbata was a 24th century Starfleet officer in command of the Constellation-class starship USS Victory.
Lt. Commander Geordi La Forge served under Zimbata on the USS Victory and gave him the gift of a model of his command's namesake, the ancient Earth sailing vessel HMS Victory, in 2365. (TNG: "Elementary, Dear Data")
- It is not known if Zimbata was still in command of the Victory when it fought in the Dominion War as referenced in DS9: "In the Pale Moonlight".
- According to a line cut from TNG: "Chain of Command, Part I", Zimbata attended Starfleet Academy together with Captain Edward Jellico; they played on the Academy's rugby team together, where Jellico was even worse than Zimbata.
